Boston

this past weekend we had a blast with mike and sherene. we got in late friday night due to some airline difficulties. sherene was sweet enough to not only stay up but to have dinner ready for us. it was delicious.

saturday morning the boys wanted to go surfing in new hampshire. in the pouring rain they went surfing in the freezing atlantic ocean. sherene and i attempted to do some shopping at the outlets in maine but it was pretty difficult with having to juggle the umbrellas and brayden. so we went back to see if our boys were done. they were waiting for us to return because their hands and feet were so frozen. so we headed back up to maine to have some lobstah and clam chowda. it was so yummy! it was right along the water. we did some site seeing after lunch. we saw the nubble lighthouse. we did some shopping in a little town and saw more crazy surfers in the ocean. the boys were a little disappointed since the waves were better in maine. then we headed back to mike and sherene's.

sunday morning we woke up with just enough time to get ready for church. we went to all three hours because both mike and sherene had to give lessons. brayden had his first experience with the nursery. he did pretty well but at the end, he cried because he was so excited to see us. we headed over to harvard campus. the business buildings were beautiful. it had ivy hanging on the sides and it was exactly how we pictured harvard would look. then we ate some pizza and bought some things from the coop. we ended the night with some pecan bars and a game of trumps.

monday morning we went apple picking with their ward in Concord. along the way we drove through lexington and saw some historical sites. we saw a beautiful lake, which i can't remember the name of, and we saw the north bridge. we saw a movie on the minute men that was actually very interesting. brayden was so interested he didn't even make a peep the whole time. it was amazing! we headed back to the apartment and caught the train into downtown boston. we ate the best clam chowder I have ever tasted. Yum... we did some more souvenir shopping and saw a pretty funny street performer.

brayden loved hearing the train bells at mike and sherene's place. he would run to the window to see the train every time. when we were in the plane going home, the plane made some noises that sounded like a bell and brayden jumped up from his slumber to clap his hands. then he collapsed back down fast asleep. it was pretty funny. he did it a second time when the plane made the same noise and then he stopped.

we had so many problems with american airlines. dane never wants to fly with them again. it was just too many things to happen on one trip. despite the plane problems and weather, we had a wonderful time in boston.
