Falling behind... Part One

I hate falling behind on the blog. Over the years I have become quite efficient on blogging. Just write the important things we want to remember, post all the pictures, and bam! As the kids get older, time seems to go by quicker. I am dreading the end of summer. We've had some crazy weather this month. We've been having sunny days, rainy days, lightning storms, windy days... you really never know what kind of weather you'll have that day. It could be sunny one minute and your house can feel like it is blowing down the next.

We had my Aunty Janice and Uncle Ron visiting from Cali one weekend. They arrived on a Thursday evening and joined us at Burger Supreme to celebrate Kahai's bday. It was Kung Fu Panda themed. The only picture I have is of me in his bday hat. I look creepy.

I think this picture is from that night too...

Friday morning (of that same weekend) I took the kids to the city carnival with our friends Kat and Brynnly. We lost the itouch that morning and didn't take any pictures. For lunch we went to my Aunty and Uncle's fifth wheel. It was nice just to relax. They fed us lunch too! Mika took a tumble out the door of the fifth wheel. She cried hard but only had a small bruise. Dinner was at Brick Oven. They had all you can drink rootbeer floats. YUMMY! We went home to get a good night's rest before the 5k in the morning but we decided to join some of our neighbor's at the park for a movie. Kids had their face painted and they watched Despicable me. We left early because they started the movie so dang late and had to wake up early for the race.

We were up early the next day and drove to the Wunder's house to borrow their jogging stroller. Thanks again, guys! My friend's sister passed away a couple of months ago. I know Julie from our old ward and we've done a few races together. You can read her sister's family blog here. We've been looking into doing a 5k as a family and decided to do this one. It was for a great cause. We talked my family into coming and also Uncle and Aunty since they were in town. I thought we were just going to take our time and walk the course with everyone, but it didn't turn out like that. My friend Nancy was volunteering and took the baby for me. Bray decided he wanted to run and took off like a bullet. He ran pretty much the first two miles and by the third mile, he was toast. I had to encourage him to finish. He started out too fast! We came in at 37 minutes. Dane pushed the girls in the double and came in about five minutes after. My mom, aunty, and uncle came in just under an hour. After the 5k they had a croc walk. All the croc's were donated. Everyone that signed up got orange crocs. They had people buy orange balloons and they did a tribute to Wendy. It was so touching. You couldn't help but want to squeeze your kids just a little tighter. Wendy sounds like an amazing person and a mother. It showed by how many people came out to support. I'm not sure on the number, but it has to be between 400-500 people. We let the kids enjoy the bouncy castles before heading off to lunch at Cabela's. After Cabela's we went to swim at the pool in my Aunty and Uncle's RV park. It was really hot and so nice to cool off. We had dinner at L&L's. My kids love to eat samin.

We were able to see my Aunty and Uncle every day they were here. They treated the kids to Kung Fu Panda 2. We thought it was such a funny movie. We went out to eat almost every night. One night we ate at Blue Plate Diner. The last night we ate at Cafe Rio. We're so glad they came to visit!

The most important thing to happen this month was Miss Ani's Birthday. She begged for a party with her friends, but the deal was...if we went to Disneyland, no party. I almost gave in but delayed so long it only worked out to have family over. The morning of her birthday she had cream of wheat for breakfast. It was the only thing she wanted to eat.

After breakfast we went to my neighbor's that does glitter toes. We went for Ani but ended up getting glitter toes on Mika and me too!

Everyone came over to house for pizza and cake. My parents, Jo & Amanda, The Fa'alafua's, and the Kamoe's.

She got some great gifts and I am pretty sure she had a lot of fun! At least Lele was having fun.

During the party she got a special delivery from her family in Hawaii. She loves chocolate covered strawberries. Takes after her mama.

For her cake she wanted a strawberry cake. Umm...forgot the strawberries for the topping. Oops. She was happy with the pink sprinkles.

After the party we went swimming a the AF pool. It worked out that we had three adults and three children. It was so fun! It was super hot too.

After swimming we went to eat at McDonald's and let the kids play in the playground thing. It's what the girl wanted. After dinner we went to eat shave ice at Hokulia. Yummy! It was a fun-filled day. I'm pretty sure she was one happy birthday girl.
