We drove up around 4 pm. Kim planned a surprise birthday party for Kaimani. He was at football practice when we arrived. We took some pictures of Kimmy and her girls before we went to set up at the park for the party. Kimmy went to get him and when he arrived, we jumped out of our hiding spots with poppers and silly string. He looked pretty happy. We ate pizza and cupcakes. It was so fun for the kids. Kimmy bought blocks of ice for the kids to go ice blocking too.
From the photo shoot
That evening the kids were up really, really late. I was surprised at Mika. She wouldn't go to bed. Finally around 1:30 in the morning, she finally fell asleep. There were kids everywhere!
This girl wouldn't go to bed!
The ladies all slept in Kim's room. Baby was in a play pen across the hall. She didn't get to bed until 11 pm and didn't wake up until 9 am. It was wonderful. The kids made these cute animal floaty things to race in the stream. We made lunch and headed to another local park. They had a small stream where the kids played, raced their animal floaters they made, and played in the sand nearby. The kids ate sandwiches, while the adults had rumbi grill.
Ani loving the kool aid drinks
all those older girls were great wanting to hold baby

kimmy and lele
mika was loving all the attention too
the kids were so dirty!
We stayed for a couple of hours and then it was time to head back. Ani had a performance at BYU and I planned on leaving around 3 pm. We ended up leaving Kimmy's house around 3 pm to USU to get ice cream. It was delicious and so worth it. After ice cream, we headed home around 4 pm. Luckily, we didn't hit any traffic and made it home in great time. Poor Ginny lost her keys at the ice cream shoppe and had to have her mom drive up the spare. So junk!
As soon as we got home we were rushing to bathe the kids and get them dressed. We drove to BYU for Ani's first hula performance. She didn't seem nervous at all. When it was her time to come on stage, she walked up, sat down, and noticed all the people for the first time. Her eyes filled up with tears and she was shaking her head at us, telling us she didn't want to do it. I think it made it worse because she couldn't see her teacher in the front helping them with the moves. We stopped looking at her and next thing I know, she is copying the girl next to her. The next song, she really got into it. It was so cute. For that song, her teacher told her that she was in the front and to watch her. Ani looked so pretty. We were so proud of her to stick it out and keep doing it. She is growing up so much!
The sun was going down behind the stage and it was hard to get good pictures. Here is Ani on the stage.
Ani before the performance with her surfboard that daddy spent hours panting purple and pink. It's what she wanted!
After the performance with her brother
The next day we were invited to our friend's son's birthday luau. It was combined with his cousin who was baptized. Ani was actually performing at it too. We didn't know until Ev told us and realized we were going to be there anyways. Ani did even better at that one. No shyness at all. Love that girl! The food was so ono too!!
This is her favorite one to perform. This time they had kids from the audience come up and do it with them. Ani is the fourth girl from the left.
